ClimbTheLadder

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

ClimbTheLadder ("we," "us") provides tennis ladder management for clubs and their players. This policy covers the ClimbTheLadder mobile app, the ClimbTheLadder admin web application used by club administrators, and this website (go.climbtheladder.io). It describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a password (stored only in securely hashed form by our authentication provider), and a display name. You may optionally add a phone number and a link to your UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) profile.

Ladder activity. The core of the service: your ladder memberships, challenges, proposed match days, match results, and standings history.

Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver match and challenge notifications to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Invitations. When a club administrator invites someone to a ladder, we process the invitee's email address in order to send the invitation.

That is the complete list. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any data from other apps.

What we don't do

What other players can see

ClimbTheLadder is a club tool, and arranging matches requires players to reach each other:

If you prefer not to share a phone number, simply leave it blank — it is optional.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that operate the service on our behalf:

These providers process data solely to provide their service to us. We do not share your information with anyone else, except if required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can edit your display name, phone number, and UTR link in the app at any time.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app: go to Profile → Delete Account and confirm. Deleting your account permanently erases your personal information, including your email address, name, phone number, and push notification tokens. Match results may be retained in anonymized form (shown as "Deleted player") to preserve the integrity of ladder standings for other players.

If you have questions or need help with deletion, contact us at support@climbtheladder.io.

Children

ClimbTheLadder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our providers using industry-standard protections. No system is perfectly secure, but we deliberately keep the amount of personal data we collect to a minimum.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
